The 2012 Mini Cooper standard run flat tires are only the beginning of the safety considerations that Cooper has added to their new line. As if the power packed into this little car wasn’t enough, Cooper has added a whole range of both active and passive safety features. On the active side, the 2012 Cooper comes with anti-lock brakes on all four wheels to guarantee that it will stop when you need it to. While steering such a powerful car might have been a problem in the past, the new Coopers come with an electro-hydraulic power assisted steering system that will have it maneuvering as if it were a part of you. On the passive side of things we see a high tech new crash sensor system which can activate all six standard airbags. All of these new innovations have earned the 2012 Mini Cooper a four star rating with the Transportation and Safety Administration and even a “Best Pick” award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

2011 Mini Cooper Review, Price and Wallpapers
2011 Mini Cooper: When the Mini Cooper came to the United States several years ago, was caused as much excitement and commotion as the Volkswagen Beetle to do with its return. The UK-born Cooper has been priveleged for car racing rally that day back in the 1960′s. Now built by BMW, stylish and ‘hip’ Mini relaunched global in 2001 with the basics of modern, and since it collects a noteworthy, even though somewhat cultish following. In 2007, BMW introduced the next generation of the Cooper. And although there are key improvements to be made, the auto manufacturer proved craftiness and brainpower with almost does not modify the exterior aesthetics of the car.
For model 2011, spanking new exterior style touches, as well as new rear and front, new taillights and foglights larger. There is slight interior cosmetic changes for a while underhood, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder gets a little boost in output and fuel economy. The City mileage was bumped up from 28mpg to 29mpg.
Mini has been present some models. This rear door is presented in base and model plus an ‘S’, John Cooper Works edition. All three are available as convertibles. Additionally, in 2008 the Mini hatchback stretches nine inches and call members of the club, with ‘S’ and the John Cooper Works models presented.
Although the 2011 Mini Cooper is known for its looks, its place in automotive history, and the technique is now Germany, is still ultimately determined by one of the most important distinctiveness: teacup-sized dimensions. Cooper’s right to live up to the Mini name and it is a sub-compact car. But this is a small car demonstrate for reasons completely dissimilar from the rest of the sub-compact class. (Unlike the original, it is not here because of rising fuel prices impose the need for smaller, more cost-effective cars.) Regardless, there is quiet much to enjoy the benefits of fuel the same kind initiate in the Toyota Yaris andHonda Fit, among others.
Total EPA speaks for itself. 2011 Mini Cooper, with 6-speed manual transmission, achieving 29 in the city and 37 on the highway, while the more athletic Cooper S prices at 27 in the city and 35 at highway is still impressive. Choosing a 6-speed automatic and standard hatchback presents 28 city in the and 36 mpg on the highway, Cooper S gives 26 city and 34 highway. John Cooper Works-manual transmission only is the most fuel efficient with EPA ratings of 28 city/36 highway. But it’s important to know that many of 2011 Mini Cooper owners will admit that their automobile fuel economy in real world driving lean more inclined Rank City, and premium-grade fuel is recommended.
2011 Mini Cooper is not a hybrid car (although there are rumors of a hybrid version in the works). Nevertheless, the model 2011 ranked No. 10 in the list of the American Council for Energy Efficient Economy of the greenest cars. Only three hybrids, CNG cars, an electric car, and four small gas-powered car get a higher value in ACEEE rigorous evaluation of environmental impacts.
MPG: 29 in the city and 37 highway (8.11/6.36 L/100km)
Body Type: Coupe
Technology: Small Car
Base MSRP: $19,400

Mini Cooper
The Mini is a small car that was made by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960s,and its space-saving front-wheel-drive layout (which allowed 80% of the area of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage) influenced a generation of car-makers. The vehicle is in some ways considered the British equivalent to its German contemporary, the Volkswagen Beetle, which enjoyed similar popularity in North America. In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th Century, behind the Ford Model T.

Lincoln, First Look: Lincoln C Concept Car Mini Cooper-owner style
BMW has proven that rear-wheel-drive c-segment size luxury works, with its 1 Series, Lincoln is turning next to the 2011 Ford Focus' platform for post-global warming luxury. To prepare us for a CAFE-friendly world, Lincoln rolled out the C concept (for c-segment, and so far, without an "MK" prefix) at Detroit. Looking much like a Renault with Lincoln's "flying wing" '41 Continental retro cue grille, the C is about the length of the '11 Focus, but about 2.75-inches wider for three-abreast seating via two flat benches. Ford designers cite the '39 Lincoln, '56 Continental II and '61 Continental as inspiration. But the a-pillar is curved much like a Renault Espace's, and the c-pillar ends in a Clio-esque bustle trunk. While there's no tumblehome, a deep shoulderline accents the profile.

The stainless steel-like top is actually aluminum with a metalized paint, and the gray interior wood trim is recycled driftwood veneer. The Lincoln C has more interior space than a '61 Continental, J Mays and Freeman Thomas proudly note. The engine, theoretically - Lincoln didn't open the hood -- is a planned 1.6-liter EcoBoost four with central direct injection, variable valve timing on both cams and an interesting stop/start system to shut down the engine for red lights and stop signs.Restarts use a fraction of the starter energy required for a cold start by injecting and igniting fuel in the cylinder closest to top-dead-center on the compression stroke. The six-speed, twin-clutch "Powershift" transmission uses more efficient dry clutches (Audi DSG's wet clutches require an oil pump). It gains 9-percent better fuel economy than a conventional automatic transmission, Ford says. Including some key weight savings, Ford expects the EcoBoost-powered C would get about 25-percent better fuel economy than a similar car with a 2.0-liter.
Other interior features include no b-pillar (which Mays insists is approaching production viability, even if the "suicide door" feature that accompanies it is only for show), a hubless steering wheel rendered in Apple-computer white plastic, thin-seat technology for better interior room (another near-production feature), hand-drawn floral patterns laser-etched into the otherwise stark white leather seats, weight- and height-sensing power head restraints, and stereo speakers in the headliner, which surrounds a Lincoln-symbol glass sunroof.
North America design chief Peter Horbury says his favorite feature, though, is a device in the car's grille that recognizes other Lincoln Cs and automatically "winks" the left headlight, Mini Cooper-owner style.
Question is, can Lincoln build a c-segment car with so much appeal that owners "wink" or wave at others voluntarily? We may have to ask that question again when Lincoln markets a c-segment car, in as little as two or three years.
