2010 Avenger - Dodge Avenger’s latest generation

Dodge Avenger’s latest generation in nearing release, as the 2010 Avenger was showcased off-late by the Chrysler Corporation. It comes with several unique features, which were not seen in the previous generations of the Avenger.

In its early days, the Dodge Avenger was the first vehicle sold in North America with 2 door coupe during the years 1995 to 2000. The price and size of the Dodge Avenger was comparable to that of Dodge Daytona. The vehicle was discontinued in the year 2003 and later it re-entered the market in the year 2007, under the label MY2008 design.
The following features are available in the latest 2010 Avenger model -

• storage lockers at the front seats
• climate control system at the back side of the vehicle
• power outlets provided additionally
• hard drive based navigation,
• stereo and phone facility,
• child mirror to view at the interior region,
• the facility to open the doors at 90 degrees angle
• booster seats (optional)
• air bags for passengers and driver, mounted at the side, as well as curtain side,
• ABS technology brakes
• assistance for electronic mitigation.

The optional features of the new Avenger include cooled and heated cup holders and Chill zone, though the Chill Zone has been a standard feature available on all the models of Avenger. It provides the facility to store 12 US fl oz cans at a time, in one box.

The Avenger series is a smart range of cars from Mitsubishi Motors during the years 1995 to 2000 and then from 2008 to till date it is under the Chrysler LLC. Under the name of Dodge Avenger four different cars were produced, namely the Dodge Avenger (also called as Hillman Avenger), Dodge Avenger Coupe during the years 1995 to 2000, Dodge avenger concept unveiled at the Auto Show of North American International and the Dodge Avenger JS sedan, which was released in the year 2007 as a model car for 2008.

The Hillman Avenger was also named as Dodge in the countries where Hillman brand was not there. During that period Hillman was under the Chrysler Corporation. The Hillman Avenger was comparatively small in size, light weight car with drive on rear side of the vehicle and the body was designed in station wagon and sedan variants. Four cylinders were used as engines except for the vehicles produced in the South Africa as to not violate the local rules.

More specifics about the 2010 Avenger are not really known as of now, and everyone is eagerly waiting for the Dodge Chrysler duo to come up with the best of the lot in the Avenger series.

The 2010 Nitro coming out next year!

The Nitro model was produced by the Daimler Chrysler for the first time in the year 2007 and later it was produced by Chrysler LLC from the year 2008 till date.

However, we’re looking at a totally revamped version of the car. The specs are tentative but it is expected that the power will be increased by one and half times, while the Torque will also be increased proportionately.

The 2010 Nitro will come in 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic and the 4-speed 42 RLE automatic transmissions. The wheel base of the vehicle would be around 2765 mm. The model was released with the sliding “Load N Go” as its top-selling feature, same as that on the Saab 9- 5 station wagon model, where the floor can be extended by 18 inches at the back side to ease the loading. The fuel tank in the vehicle has the capacity to store the 19 gallons of fuel and gives the efficiency of 24 miles per gallon on the high way and 18 miles per gallon in the city.

The Auxiliary transmission cooler in the vehicle is provided with the 3.7 L V6 front engine, which generates a stroke of 90.8 mm, compression ratio of 9.7 along with over head cam and 2 valves per cylinder EKG.

The vehicle was advertised in the United States with the tag line of “Charged with Adrenaline”, showing a dog getting electrocuted when it comes in contact with the SUV wheels and after that it pulls the vehicle quickly, but now it will be featured with a revived advertisement.

The wheel base of the vehicle was 2921 mm and the vehicle was related to the Chrysler 300, Dodge Monaco, Chrysler Cordoba, Dodge Charger and the Plymouth Fury. The Dodge Dart produced in the year 1981 in the country of Brazil was sold as the Magnum including the features 318 in V8 engine and the front fascia made up of fiber glass that included 4 head lights and the rear end looks similar to that of Dart produced in America.

The K- Car Magnum included with,
• Engine- 6.1 L HEMI V8

The new Dodge Nitro stands out in a crowd with its characteristic design. STARTECH presents a complete custom parts and design program that further accentuates the extravagant appearance.

The face of the American SUV gets even more pizzazz with the strikingly styled STARTECH front fascia. The new front element was designed to easily replace the stock bumper by retaining the original mounting points.

For a more homogenous transition between front and rear wheel houses the STARTECH designers have shaped special rocker panels that give the five-door a lower and sleeker appearance.

The rear is refined with the STARTECH rear fascia. The fascia features custom-tailored cutouts left and right for the two characteristic tailpipes of the fully stainless-steel STARTECH sport exhaust system.

For the turbodiesel version of the Dodge Nitro STARTECH offers its SD3 performance kit. The auxiliary module can be installed by any authorized Dodge dealer in about 30 minutes. With it maximum power output jumps from stock 140 hp / 103 kW to 180 hp / 132 kW. At the same time peak torque increases to 360 Nm between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm.

Dodge Power Wagon

1957 Dodge Power Wagon.
When you think "Power", this '57 Dodge Power Wagon should be what comes to mind. This particular Power Wagon was built to Mil Spec and started life with the Navy out in Hawaii. After years of faithful military service this old veteran found it's way into the hands of John Metzler, owner of Hawaii's Metzler Contracting. John had the truck 25 years before he decided to restore the brute. One look at it and you know there isn't a beach or volcano in the Islands this Power Wagon couldn't handle, and were sure that John intends to prove it.
For the most part this was a stock restoration with the exception of the engine and transmission. Vintage Power Wagons supplied those body and chassis parts which were mising or couldn't be repaired.
1957 Dodge Power Wagon - front.
The Dodge Power Wagon, like the Jeep, was forged in the fires of WWII. While the name did not arrive till 1946, WC series of dodge trucks (military designation M-37), served on every front of the war, from slogging thru mud on the Burma Road to sliding in the snow of the Ardennes. They served as weapons carriers, troop carriers, ambulances, tow trucks, and just about every other function that the services could think of. When the war ended dodge knew it had a solid and proven work truck on its hands that it could sell to the commercial truck market.
In 1946 Dodge put a "civilian" cab and an 8-foot bed on the proven ¾-ton, 126-inch wheelbase WC chassis and dubbed it the "Power Wagon". This civilianized version of the M-37 was still too Spartan for civilians as far as Dodge was concerned, so it was marketed to government and commercial agencies that needed a "no-frills" work-horse that could get the job done in rough country, under harsh conditions. Functionality over form was the hallmark of the Power Wagon.
1957 Dodge Power Wagon - rear.
Though dubbed the "Power Wagon", under the hood resided the relatively tame 230 cubic-inch flat head six, with a compression ratio of about 6.7:1. The "Power" came from torque multiplying final-drive ratios more common to farm tractors than road vehicles. Buyers could choose a highway-friendly 4.89 rear end that could get you cruising at 50 mph in the fast lane, or a stump-pulling 5.83 that would top you out at blistering 45 mph in the top gear. It featured a two-speed transfer case and a 4-speed transmission with a power take off which would send power to the front and back of the truck for operating auxiliary equipment. With the optional 10,000 lb front mounted winch, this truck could go just about anywhere, which made it perfect for utility companies, fire and forest service agencies and the military, not to mention farmers with stumps to pull.
From 1946 till 1968 when the line was ended in the US, the military/commercial version of the Power Wagon remained virtually unchanged. Most people would be unable to tell the difference between the '46 and '68 models by simply looking at one. To confuse matters, in 1957 Dodge introduced a separate "civilian" line of 4x4 half-ton and ¾-ton trucks that also bore the "Power Wagon" name. These had conventional, modern cabs and bed designs, and came with the kinds of amenities that could attract the everyday user. These parallel lines co-existed until '68 when the original line was ended because the 40's era cab could not meet the new highway safety standards (the line continued for another 10 years in the export market).
1957 Dodge Power Wagon - fender. 1957 Dodge Power Wagon - running board.
In 1977 the military was looking to replace the venerable M-37 Power Wagons. It needed a light utility pickup in the one ton range, and rather than reinvent the wheel, it decided to purchase the current W200 series civilian Power Wagons in both the standard and crew-cab version as a cost saving measure. Given the military designation of M-880, these trucks would serve until their replacement by the HUMVEE. The M-880 came with a civilian 2-speed full-time transfer case, 318 V8s, automatic transmissions, Dana axles front and rear and four-wheel drum brakes. The military developed a love/hate relationship with the 880 during its service. It was a good truck that took a lot of abuse, but it just did not have the off-road capability and maneuverability (battleships have tighter turn radius'), needed for combat operations in the field. In other words, it got stuck a lot and could not go many of the places the Army needed it to.
The Power Wagon name was retired in 1981 when Dodge trucks were given the name "Power Ram", thus ending an era of 4x4 lore. In the past couple of years there has been talk of reviving the line with modern, rough duty 4x4 with retro 40's styling. We'll keep our eyes open and fingers crossed.
1957 Dodge Power Wagon - bed.
The Oak wood bed kit is from MAR-K and really adds a touch of class to this old war-horse.

A 1946 Power Wagon. Notice how little it changed in 11 years. A tribute to the adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Well, we fixed it, but just a little...

Dodge Trucks Pictures

The bold grilles are unmistakable. If a mere mortal looks into the rearview mirror of his car, he knows a Dodge truck is behind him. With power plants to match the aggressive styling, including the legendary HEMI and V-10 Viper engines, the Dodge family of trucks and 4x4s includes the full-sized Ram and compact Dakota pick-ups.

dodge ram  Dodge Ram What was once a utilitarian vehicle, the pick-up has evolved dramatically from its humble days of hauling stuff and the Dodge Ram has led the way. Gone are the days of the box on wheels with 4x4 capability that your friends asked to borrow because they had a tree stump that needed to be removed. A case in point is the new limited edition Dodge Ram Rumble Bee, a lowered two-wheel-drive sport truck based on the SRT-10.
The basic Dodge Ram comes in a 2-dr regular cab and a 4-dr crew-cab called the Quad Cab. Both body styles are available in ST and uplevel SLT trim which offer 6.3- and 8-ft-long cargo beds. They have a 40/20/40 split front bench seat; Quad Cab versions have a folding 3-passenger rear bench. The base engine is a 3.7L V6, with V8s of 4.7- and the 5.7L HEMI available. Automatic transmission options include a tow/haul mode that alters shift points with heavy loads. More...

Dodge Ram SRT-10 Sport trucks like the Dodge Ram 1500 SRT-10 seem more like a sports car than something to push a snowplow. With its 500 horsepower 8.3L V-10 Viper engine, the Ram SRT-10 looks more at home on a drag strip than a muddy trail. Racing-inspired lines, a rear spoiler and 22-inch polished aluminum wheels wrap around this monstrous beast of a truck, which also includes a six-speed manual transmission and dual exhaust.
Dodge Ram SRT-10
The handsome good looks and steep price tag of the SRT-10 are not for everyone, though. The Ram 2500 and 3500 series of trucks offer function, power and less glitz than the SRT-10, but don't say this truck is Spartan. With a base 5.7 V8 Magnum engine and 17-inch painted steel wheels, the Ram 2500/3500 can haul, tow and carry just about anything thrown its way and still holds the distinction of being the longest-lasting full-sized pickup (based on R.L. Polk and Co. Vehicles in Operation statistics for trucks 7/02). More...

dodge dakota Dodge Dakota Less muscular though plenty powerful, the midsize Dakota is a great entry into the pickup market for a first timer or someone whose needs don't require quite so brawny a truck. Don't let the scaled-down looks of the Dakota fool you - this truck is the best in its class for horsepower, torque, towing and payload. All in all, not bad for a "little" truck.
This 2005 compact pickup approaches near-full-size proportions. The redesigned Dakota shares the 1997-2004 model's wheelbase, but is four inches longer overall and up to 600 lb heavier, depending on model. It is available in Club Cab and Quad Cab body styles. However, regular-cab models are no longer available. More...

Dodge Power Wagon Re-introducing a familiar name from Dodge's past, the 2005 Dodge Ram Power Wagon will grace showrooms and wicked terrain as the "most capable off-road pickup on the planet." Standing on 33-inch tires, the Power Wagon is a brute that features a standard 5.7L HEMI V8 engine, electronically locking front and rear differentials, and a 12,000-pound self-recovery winch with remote control. Dodge promises the Power Wagon will demolish the competition in off-road capability. It would be surprising if it didn't. Dodge Ram Power Wagon
But to say the Power Wagon is simply an off-roader would be selling it short. Sporting features such as a higher-output alternator, a modified clutch fan for moving more air through the engine compartment, extra-capacity cooling for the transmission, a brand-new, extremely heavy-duty forged trailer hitch, and a larger-capacity battery - Dodge has also created the ultimate towing machine
